Knowledge Translation

Through strategic knowledge translation and evidence uptake activities, PIIVeC aims to increase the use of evidence in national policy-making, and increase the influence of locally-generated evidence and African expertise in global policy-making.
For national decision-making processes, there is need to improve the use of locally generated data. This is challenging when vector control programmes are externally financed and driven by global level policies. PIIVeC research will strengthen the evidence base available for decision-making. Through the establishment of Technical Vector Control Advisory Groups and the appointment of Country Coordinators, we will reinforce partnerships between evidence generators and evidence users, creating fora to discuss evidence in digestible formats such as policy briefs and rapid reviews. We will also increase national influence on global policy by maximising opportunities for fellows to participate in international policy making fora.
