Patinte Didier Alexandre Kabore

Patinte is a PhD student registered to the University of Nazi Boni of Bobo Dioulasso and working at the IRSS under the supervision of Professor DABIRE K. Roch and Dr SAWADOGO Simon within PIIVeC postdoc scholarship. He achieved his master’s degree at the University of Nazi Boni of Bobo Dioulasso being working on Entomological study of Plasmodium falciparum transmission in western Burkina Faso three years after the distribution of long-lasting insecticide nets. During his Masters training, he developed competence on entomological data collection, PCR analysis to detect Plasmodium infectivity, vector species and resistance gene mutations and biochemical and immunological analysis of mosquitoes for their blood feeding origin and metabolic resistance diagnostics. Patinte is working with Simon on the impact of the Wolbachia bacteria on the fitness and vector competence/capacity and on the susceptibility to insecticides either for Aedes aegypti and Anopheles gambiae s.l. mosquitoes. Through the PIIVeC program Patinte hopes to increase laboratory skills, especially in cells cultures, microinjections and PCR techniques used to detect and follow up the infections of mosquito’s populations by Wolbachia.
