Nurudeen’s work involves knowledge synthesis and technical assistance in the implementation of ongoing projects, and development of proposals.
Nurudeen joined AFIDEP in 2017, and his previous work involved serving as a research and teaching assistant at the Regional Institute for Population Studies, University of Ghana. He was also a visiting scholar at the Pennsylvania State University in 2015.
He holds a First Class Honors B.A. degree in Social Work with Political Science, and a Ph.D. and a M.Phil. in Population Studies, all from the University of Ghana. His interests lie in gender, power dynamics, adolescent and youth sexual and reproductive health, and fertility transitions in sub-Saharan Africa.
Nurudeen has presented at several high-level international population conferences, including Population Association of America (PAA) annual meetings, the African Population Conference and the International Union for the Scientific Study of Population’s annual International Population Conferences.
