Nellie Kaunde

Nellie Kaunde holds a bachelor’s degree in Education Science with a major in Biology obtained at the University of Malawi Chancellor College in 2018. For her undergraduate research project, she evaluated the performance of three locally available feeds as alternatives to standard fish food on rearing Anopheles gambiae sensu stricto (Kisumu strain) larvae to adult in the insectarium. Nellie is currently working at the Malaria Alert Center as a junior researcher with Dr. Evelyn Olanga. Her aim is to gain knowledge on malaria vector behaviours and ecology. Nellie intends to become a parasitologist with interest in the parasites that transmit Human African Trypanosomiasis and Malaria.
