Charles Wondji

Vector biologist in Cameroon

Charles is a Professor at LSTM and Head of the Centre for Research in Infectious Diseases (CRID) in Yaounde, Cameroon. His main research interest is the understanding of the biology, genetics and genomics of mosquito vectors of tropical diseases.

He currently studies the mechanisms of insecticide resistance in field populations of An. funestus using sophisticated molecular techniques. His aim is to use this knowledge to develop simple molecular assays to detect resistance in field populations. This will greatly facilitate the management of insecticide resistance in Africa.
